Licensed to drive a shopping cart?
Ramona Josephson to speak at Activate 2003
Well-known dietitian, nutritionist and author Ramona Josephson knows her nutrition. She will be the first in a showcase of speaker that are part of the Activate 2003 Wellness Fair for seniors on Saturday April 19. Her talk "Are you licensed to drive a shopping cart?" will take place from 11:30am until noon in the Richmond Cultural Center lecture hall. In this free lecture presented by Richmond Public library, Josephson will show participants how to use their shopping cart as their nutrition barometer. She will share tips and the latest research on health eating, including ideas for simple meals and snacks. She'll teach participants how to eat for energy and manage their weight. She'll also offer a sneak preview of Health Canada's pending food label legislation. Josephson, who has a practice as a nutrition coach in Vancouver, is also launching a revised edition of her book HeartSmart Nutrition - Shopping on the Run. "This is a unique opportunity for seniors and their families to meet Ramona and hear an expert discuss nutrition'' librarian Desiree Baron said. |
